BBQ Baked Cowboy Beans

Ingredients
  • 1 pound ground turkey (original recipe called for beef)
  • 1 medium sweet onion, chopped (original recipe called for ½ cup)
  • ¼ cup ketchup
  • ¼ cup barbecue sauce (I used sweet baby ray's)
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 2 Tbs. molasses
  • 1 Tbs. chili powder
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. pepper
  • 2 Tbs. mustard
  • 1 can pork 'n beans
  • 1 can kidney beans, drained
  • 1 can pinto beans, drained
  • ½ pound bacon, cooked and crumbled
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. In a large sauté pan, cook ground turkey (or beef) until browned, breaking up and stirring as it cooks. Add onion and cook until tender. Drain off any excess grease.
  3. In a large bowl, combine all the the ingredients, except the cooked bacon. Stir well.
  4. Pour into a 2 quart casserole dish or crockpot. Top with bacon.
  5. Bake for one hour, OR cook in slow cooker on HIGH for 1 hour, then reduce to LOW for 2-4 hours.
