Recipe type: Breakfast
Serves: 20
Ingredients
  • 6 cups, thick, old fashioned rolled oats (I bought gluten-free)
  • 2 cups, slivered and blanched almonds
  • 1 cup, raw cashews, chopped
  • 1 Tbs. ground nutmeg (freshly ground nutmeg is preferred)
  • 1 Tbs. orange zest
  • Juice of ½ large orange
  • ¼ cup honey
  • ¾ cup real maple syrup
  • ⅓ cup melted butter
  • ¼ cup water
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 225 degrees.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine all ingredients. Mix until thoroughly incorporated.
  3. Evenly spread granola mixture onto two large cookie sheets. Place one cookie sheet on the bottom rack and the other on the middle rack of your oven. Bake for 2½ – 3 hours, or until lightly golden brown and crunchy. Let granola completely cool before storing in an airtight container. Enjoy by itself as a snack, with milk as a cereal, on top of yogurt, pancakes, waffles, in a parfait, etc! The possibilities are endless :-)
