6 cups, thick cut rolled oats, or old fashioned oats (I used organic, gluten-free)
2½ cups sliced almonds (these are much cheaper in the bulk section versus buying them prepackaged)
⅓ cup Jack Daniel's whiskey
¾ cup REAL maple syrup (not the flavored stuff!! I buy mine at Costco)
5 Tbs. butter, melted
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 225 degrees.
In a large mixing bowl, whisk the whiskey :-) syrup and melted butter together. Add the oats and almonds. Mix until well coated.
Spread the oat mixture evenly onto a large baking pan or cookie sheet. Bake for 2-3 hours, or until golden brown. Let it cool completely before storing in an air tight container.
